Ralph Becker, German-Filipino, based in the Philippines and born and raised in Luxembourg, is a former tech/ corporate business guy turned hydroponic enthusiast. He started his business Urban Greens in 2016 with a vision to bring hydroponic technology to urban centers, remote sites and islands around the world. He is since then a member of the AVF and their representative for SEA. His scalable model and big vision is centered around turning underutilized, unused and un-monetized spaces into profitable high-end hydroponic farm setups to provide clean and high value crops to hotels, restaurants and bars.
Jasper den Besten graduated from Wageningen University in 1981 and started to work as a lecturer in the horticulture department at HAS University of applied sciences, Den Bosch, The Netherlands and nowadays as professor in new cultivation systems. The vertical farming expertise started 10 years ago and resulted in a lot of knowledge and experience in a wide range of crops. HAS University has climate cells in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and HAS is co-founder of BrightBox Venlo. Jasper den Besten is manager of BrightBox Venlo, member of the honorary board of the Association for Vertical Farming and board member of Duurzame Kost.
Dr. Ulrich Eder is a German senior lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) and Certified Tax Advisor (Steuerberater), living and working in Thailand since 2007. He is Managing Director of PUGNATORIUS Ltd., a highly accredited international law office in Bangkok. PUGNATORIUS Ltd. advises on foreign direct investments in Thailand, real estate developments, international tax planning, infrastructure and energy investments as well as fintech ventures. The law firm has particular experiences and know-how in the legal advice and transaction support of foreign investments in agriculture, horticulture, aquaculture, fishery, and livestock.
