TROPHY CATEGORIES

Smart Farming Solutions

highlights practical technologies that help farmers make better decisions, improve day-to-day operations, and bring smart agriculture into everyday practice.

Sustainable Practices

honors technologies that support more responsible, resource-efficient, and sustainable farming in the fields.

Digital & Automation Solutions

recognizes tools that use digital systems and automation to make farming operations smarter, faster, and much more efficient.

CRITERIA

Smart Farming Solutions

Entries under this category are evaluated based on their applicability in Asian farming systems, including their suitability for small to mid-sized farms and compatibility with local infrastructure, skills, and operating conditions. Technologies must also show demonstrated farm-level impact, such as clear contributions to productivity, efficiency, labor optimization, or cost reduction.

Judges will also consider the ease of adoption of the technology, including practical installation, operation, maintenance, and the learning curve required for farmers or service providers. Finally, the solution should demonstrate scalability and replicability, meaning it can be adopted by similar farms or farming communities without depending on exceptional subsidies or one-off conditions.

Sustainable Practices

Entries are assessed according to their environmental relevance, including their contribution to resource efficiency in water, soil, energy, and farm inputs, as well as their ability to reduce emissions, waste, or environmental risks. The technology should also show economic viability, ensuring that sustainability measures do not compromise farm income and that there is a clear cost-benefit logic for farmers.

Judges will also consider the technology’s adaptation to local conditions, including its suitability to local crops, climate, and production systems, as well as its applicability across diverse Asian contexts. The solution should demonstrate long-term impact by supporting resilience, soil health, climate adaptation, system durability, or responsible farming behavior over time.

Digital and Automation Solutions

Entries are evaluated based on the functional value of digitalization, including improvements in monitoring, planning, traceability, operational control, and overall farm management. The technology should offer a clear benefit compared to non-digital alternatives.

Judges will also look at user accessibility, ensuring that the solution is designed for real farm users such as farmers, operators, and cooperatives. Language, interface, data requirements, and usability should be realistic and practical. The solution must also demonstrate integration into existing systems, meaning it can work with current machinery, workflows, or farm structures without adding unnecessary complexity. Finally, entries should show readiness and reliability, with proven functionality under real conditions and stable performance beyond experimental or conceptual stages.
